Chairman of the Board Commissioner William J. Ellinger "Our mission is to be vigilant in protecting our water supply from all possible sources of contamination and to deliver the purest of water at a reasonable cost to our customers"

Commissioner Ellinger attended SUNY Farmingdale and majored in Engineering under the G.I. Bill and has been serving at the Bethpage Water District for over 25 years. Mr. Ellinger is a past chairman and an active member of the Long Island Water Conference. He is also a member of the Nassau-Suffolk Water Commissioners Association and the American Water Works Association. In addition to his water-related activities, Mr. Ellinger has served the community as a Bethpage fireman since 1951and is an Honorary Department Chief. He is a Korean war veteran and member of the American Legion. Retired from the Roslyn School District where he was Director of Transportation and Facilities, Mr. Ellinger currently works as a construction consultant for public works projects. He and his wife Barbara have six children; Glenn, Steven, Dianne, Willie, Marion and Frank.
