Commissioner Gary S. Bretton
|
Commissioner Gary S.
Bretton has been a long time resident of the community of Bethpage and
has been extremely active in many different organizations and
groups. Presently, Gary is the President of the Bethpage Chamber
of Commerce and is also the Director of the Bethpage Youth Center,
Chairman of the Bethpage Beautification Project and President of the
Bethpage PAL. Commissioner Bretton has been honored by being
elected as the Grand Marshall of the Bethpage St. Patrick's Day Parade
and has received the Newsday Volunteer Award as well as the Nassau
Council of Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Person of the Year
Award. He received the Community Service Award from the Nassau
County Police Department and the Knight's of Columbus. He is a
lifetime associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and
founder of the Bethpage Community Foundation and the Bretton Benefit
Bowl, which raises funds for the needy of the Bethpage
Community. Commissioner Bretton's dedication to the Bethpage
community continues with his service as a Water Commissioner. He
brings to the Board a wide variety of skills obtained from his many
years of experience as a successful small business owner. Mr.
Bretton and his wife Darlene have two children, Gary Jr. and
Christopher.
